Winslow Therapeutic Riding Center is a non-profit organization accredited by the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International, devoted to the special needs population of the Hudson Valley and surrounding area in northern New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Connecticut.
Located on 100 acres of scenic land, Winslow’s facility is a haven for horses and humans alike. Winslow is dedicated to participants with many different injuries, disabilities, and learning challenges, as well as those who just want to learn to ride and enrich their lives.
Therapeutic horseback riding produces smiles, laughter, friendship, and healing. We see children and adults every day who improve their physical, cognitive, social, and emotional well being by learning to ride in our therapeutic environment.
Our well trained and caring staff and volunteers have made it possible for us to offer a unique and often life-changing horseback riding experience to children and adults in our community since 1974.
We believe that every person, no matter what the challenge, can benefit from riding. Individuals who possess a desire to learn about horses and riding in a manner that is natural, relaxed, centered, and in harmony with the horse and rider, are excellent candidates at Winslow. Our programs are designed to meet the needs of those who wish to learn about horses and riding in a therapeutic environment.
