Winslow comes most to life when the warm weather hits! It’s the best time of year to complete projects, spend time with friends, grow some new veggies in the garden, and spend time out on our beautiful trails!

At Winslow, the summer sun brings…SUMMER ADVENTURES! With limited spots available each week this year due to COVID restrictions, we expanded our program from 7 weeks to 11 weeks. Each one has its own surprise theme including Olympics, Explorer, Circus, Western, Fiesta, Mardi Gras, Hollywood, Beach, Super Hero, Independence, and Native American Week! With participants joining in on riding and unmounted horsemanship lessons, crafts, games, and other activities, the fun never stops at Winslow!

NEW TO WINSLOW! Tiny Trotters toddler program! Available to ages 2-4 with an adult of their choosing. Tots experience riding and unmounted horsemanship skills with their partner in crime in a 4-day immersive program. We are so excited to offer this unique, one-of-a-kind program to all the future horse lovers out there!

As we move through our re-opening phases, all riders are now welcomed back and our lesson schedule is going to be busy! It will be so nice to see our facility hustling and bustling again with new friends and old. Winslow has also hosted a number of scout groups already this spring/summer teaching them horsemanship skills to meet the requirements of their badge. We have also been conducting lots of new volunteer orientations, as well as unmounted skills training for all volunteers. Winslow could not provide our amazing services without our wonderful volunteers and we are so grateful for each one of them.

Our Adult Day Program continues to succeed through these ever-changing times! Participants come Monday-Friday in small groups, while the participants at home attend all of our activities through Zoom. This rotating schedule is working out wonderful and they are all so happy to be able to come and spend time back at Winslow. We are so happy to see so many faces back!

In May, HDR employees came out to help us install of Monarch Butterfly Garden! Along with Winslow’s Incredible Teen Helpers (W.I.T.H.) and Staff, they were able to plant almost 100 new plants which will attract the Monarch Butterfly and hopefully help to take them off of the endangered species list. Thank you to everyone who came out and worked so hard digging holes and planting!

And finally, back in the spring, we had AAA Northeast employees at Winslow for a ‘Day of Giving’. During their time here they were able to re-paint many of our signs that go on our sensory trail in addition to making some new ones for a fresh look! We can’t wait to see how they will contribute to our one-of-a-kind woodland experience.

We don’t know about you, but at Winslow, we LOVE SUMMER!
