WARWICK – There’s a place nestled in Warwick where people with mental and physical disabilities get a chance to ride horses.

Winslow Therapeutic Riding Center director Sue Ferro says the nonprofit organization helps people with every challenge one can think of – from people in wheelchairs to those living with developmental disabilities.

“It gives them skills really to get through life every day. It gives them skills to cope with the challenging lifestyle that they have,” says Ferro. “We’ve had many, many what we call little miracles that happen here, at least once a day we see it.”

The center sees about 200 students per week.

It is working to expand its programs, but says it needs more volunteers and donations to be able to keep giving lessons and helping more students
