Denim & Diamonds gala raises $60,000

CENTRAL VALLEY — It was a mild and picture-perfect evening last Friday, Sept. 25, as approximately 160 guests attended Winslow Therapeutic Center’s 41st Denim and Diamonds Gala fund raiser.

Guests were able to enjoy warm and friendly festivities both outdoors and indoors at the picturesque Falkirk Estate and Country Club in Central Valley.

Winslow is a not for profit Hippotherapy and Therapeutic Riding Center accredited by the North American Riding for the Handicapped Association and devoted to the special needs population of Orange and surrounding counties.

Gross proceeds from the event, which will directly benefit the riders at Winslow Therapeutic Center, were more than $60,000 and still counting.

This year’s gala featured non-stop musical entertainment by the popular Tony T Entertainment/City Express Band. along with open bar, cocktail hour, full course dinner and dancing. And a silent auction featured unique items including hand crafted jewelry, artwork, gift certificates and vacation getaways.

A short time was also set aside for a touching video presentation about hippotherapy at Winslow.

One of the highlights of the evening was the presentation of an award by Winslow founding member Jini Mazza-Loomis to this year’s honoree Vince Mezzetti, founder and CEO of Myles Wealth Management.

Mezzetti was honored for his early and longtime support of Winslow Therapeutic Center.

The center, located on 100 acres of scenic land just off Route 17A in Warwick, has been offering unique and often life-changing horseback riding experiences to children and adults in this community since 1974.

Assemblyman Karl Brabenec, who represents the 98th District, also presented Mezzetti with a New York State Assembly Certificate of Merit.

Sponsors for this year’s event were Diamond: Myles Financial Services; Silver: St. Anthony Community Hospital, Kennedy Companies, Walden Savings Bank and Exactintent; and in the Denim category: CLC Transportation, Inc., Leo Kaytes Ford, Vogel & Moore Insurance, Clavin-Marquet Family, Advisors Capital Management and Security Mutual Life Insurance.
