Winslow Therapeutic Riding Center could not have been happier to play a key role in the healing of our nation’s veterans by welcoming Trauma and Resiliency Resources, Inc.’s Warrior Camp® program. TRR’s Warrior Camp® is a 7 day intensive, residential  program designed specifically for veterans and active duty military who are most at risk of suicide. The program integrates 4 modalities: Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, Equine Assisted Psychotherapy, Yoga, Narrative Writing and, for the first time, Native American Sweat Lodge Ceremony, in the context of community.

Warrior Camp’s therapy sessions took place on Winlsow’s campus and utilized our 23 horses.  TRR Staff stayed at Warwick Conference Center, Warwick Valley VFW Post 4662 provided support for the program including transportation of the participants and coordinating a welcome dinner for TRR’s all-volunteer staff. Additionally, The Rotary Club of Warwick, The Knights of Columbus, American Legion Post 214, Fratello’s, Taco Hombre and Shop-Rite Warwick provided generous support.
