Winslow was recently provided with the opportunity to offer free horsemanship lessons to military veterans through a grant received from the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship Intl. (PATH Intl.). Through this grant, a number of veterans who so bravely dedicated their lives to serving our country, were each offered 10 free horsemanship lessons. These lessons were tailored to their abilities and experience, and included a wide variety of topics including learning how to groom and tack a horse, communicate with horses and understand their behavior, how to care for horses, how to ride horses, and much more! We are so grateful for opportunities like these that allow us to positively influence the lives of others through the power of the horse.

Learning through horses is a fantastic way to gain more insight about oneself and others. Horses are emotional animals who are highly sensitive to those around them and their environment. When interacting with horses, people learn how to read and understand non-verbal communication and how to be patient and kind. Lesson participants can instantly see how their energy level and the stressors that they are dealing with, can impact others around them as the horses can pick up on that energy and will show their discomfort through their behavior. The power of the horse is something that can only be learned through hands-on experience. Working with horses is a life-changing opportunity that will benefit each individual in how they view the world around them and how they view themselves. There are not enough positive words in the dictionary to describe what horses do for humans.
